I often focus more on getting heavy aircraft when I am at ORD primarily because of my Heavy Aircraft Friday feature. I always try to make sure I have enough videos of those for that. Because I do not visit the airport as often as I would like, and given that the limited space of the camera allows me to only get about 60-70 videos if I stay for 12-14 hours, I have to capitalize on heavy aircraft. Every now and then though I like to display some regional jets from the airport as I know many of you like these. If you don't see your favorite jet here in this video stay tuned because I will be doing more of these in future. Towards the end I tried a new spot which will hopefully be featured in videos to come. Several of these aircraft were filmed during 20+ gusting winds which makes it hard to control the camera. I won't be apologizing though.... the weather is the weather!! :D

This is a new spot because I haven't filmed much there but it is the same place I filmed the first ever landing of the United Airlines Boeing 787 at ORD. I found it by accident.
Due to the nature of the area you have to be able to film immediately as soon as aircraft pops out from behind the buildings as they come off the runway. There is also an intersection to complicate things. It is more of a summer location because this requires you to always have the camera out at the ready. In the winter this subjects it to very cold temps and my hands quickly became so cold that I couldn't feel myself pressing the buttons. This was the only good one I got but I look forward to returning there.
